Secondary losses after the loss of a child
- One of the harder parts of loss is that loss rarely exists on its own; there are often secondary losses that accompany the death of a loved one. Abilities; relationships; even less-concrete things like hopes and dreams. These secondary losses add extra layers of pain.

This year has been hard for me, but it’s been a clean kind of hard. Most people understand grief is a thing. Most people understand pain surrounding death. I don’t think most people understand what happens afterwards.
