Since I first rejoined online spaces after Adrian’s death, I’ve felt that a certain amount of predatory behavior exists in our community. I wish it didn’t.
That first year after Adrian died, I realized how awkward normal life interactions could be, even something as commonplace as filing annual taxes.
When you’re in the midst of the trauma, it’s hard to think about the work that goes into these things; the time and effort of those who work to make this experience even slightly less horrible. Looking back now, though, I appreciate it.
