Child Loss as a Military Member
The experience of loss within the military is complicated both by culture and by expectations that bereaved military parents should be “strong” when they feel most weak. These expectations can add an extra layer of difficulty to an already trying time of grief.
This page exists to provide resources, both to military families who have experienced the death of a child, and also to supervisors, commanders, and other personnel who support them. We hope you find these resources useful and that they help to bring further understanding to a complex issue.
Please also take a look at our bereaved parents and friends and family resources pages for more general articles and support.
Thank you for being here,
